The authors consider the following eigenvalue problem in the domain \(\Omega\) in \(\mathbb R^d\) for \(d=2,3\) \[ -\operatorname{div}(A\nabla w)=k^2 n(x)w \text{ in }\Omega \] \[ -\Delta v=k^2 v\text{ in }\Omega \] \[ w-v=0 \text{ in }\partial \Omega \] \[ {\partial w}\over{\partial {v_A}}=0\text{ in }\partial\Omega, \] \(k\) being the eigenvalue to be find. For numerical processing of the above eigenvalue problem the finite element method is proposed. Multilevel correction consists in creating finite element spaces starting with coarse triangulation and then in refinig this triangulation. Algorithms for one and more correction steps are defined. Results of computations in case of the unit disc, of the unit square, and of \(L\)-shaped domain are given.
