The authors present an efficient finite volume solver for the compressible Euler equations. This scheme is preserving the asymptotics of the low Mach limit, it ensures the kinetic energy of the flow, is linearly stable, and it allows to correctly represent low Mach number flows. Some numerical simulations with this scheme that work for Mach numbers as low as \(\sim 10^{-10}\) are given. The method can also be applied to flows with high Mach number, where it continuously approaches the Roe solver.
