The interesting paper under review deals with the collective behavior of solutions to the family of Poisson problems \[ \begin{cases} \Delta u_\varepsilon =f &\;\text{in}\;A_\varepsilon,\\ u_\varepsilon=0 & \;\text{on}\;\partial A_\varepsilon. \end{cases} \] Here \(\{A_\varepsilon\}_{0<\varepsilon<\varepsilon_0}\) is a family of perforated domains \(A_\varepsilon=A\setminus \varepsilon\overline{P},\) where \(A\) is a bounded, simply connected and Lipschitz continuous subset of the plane sector \(S_\omega\) of opening \(\omega\in(0,2\pi)\) which coincides with it near the vertex, the hole pattern \(P\) is a finite union of bounded simply connected Lipschitz domains, and \(\varepsilon P\) a self-similar collection of holes concentrating at the vertex of the sector. The authors employ a method introduced in [\textit{M. Lanza de Cristoforis}, Analysis, München 28, No. 1, 63--93 (2008; Zbl 1153.35020)] to study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions \(u_\varepsilon\) as \(\varepsilon\to0.\) However, due to the particular structure of the perforated domains, also the scale \(\eta=\varepsilon^{\pi/\omega}\) appears in addition to the scale \(\varepsilon.\) It is proved that if \(\pi/\omega\) is irrational then the solution of the Dirichlet problem is given by convergent series in powers of these two small parameters. Thanks to the interference of the two scales, the convergence is obtained by grouping together integer powers of the two scales that are very close each to other. The authors prove that there exists a dense subset of openings \(\omega\) (characterized by Diophantine approximation properties), for which real analyticity in the variables \(\varepsilon\) and \(\eta\) holds and the power series converge unconditionally. In the case of rational \(\pi/\omega,\) the series are unconditionally convergent, but contain terms in \(\log\varepsilon.\)
