The article under review studies the Poisson structure on the moduli space of flat \(G\)-connections associated with a pair \((\Sigma,V)\) of a Riemann surface \(\Sigma\) and a finite set \(V\) of points on the boundary of \(\Sigma\), which was introduced by \textit{V. V. Fock} and \textit{A. A. Rosly} [Theor. Math. Phys. 95, No. 2, 526--534 (1993; Zbl 0849.58030); translation from Teor. Mat. Fiz. 95, No. 2, 228--238 (1993); in: Moscow Seminar in mathematical physics. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society. 67--86 (1999; Zbl 0945.53050)]. This Poisson structure is related with the well-known Atiyah-Bott Poisson structure on the full moduli space. The Fock-Rosly Poisson structure is defined using a family of quasi triangular \(r\)-matrices indexed by \(V\), all of which have common symmetric part \(s \in S^2 \mathfrak{g}\), where \(\mathfrak{g}\) is the Lie algebra of the complex Lie group \(G\). The results of the article are a reformulation of the Fock-Rosly Poisson structure and the comparison with a canonical quasi-Poisson structure on the same moduli space, discovered by \textit{G. Massuyeau} and \textit{V. Turaev} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2014, No. 1, 1--64 (2014; Zbl 1298.53085)] and studied further by \textit{D. Li-Bland} and \textit{P. Ševera} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2011, No. 10, 2295--2350 (2011; Zbl 1218.53083)]. Specifically, it is shown that the Fock-Rosly Poisson structure is an example of a mixed product Poisson structure associated to pairs of Poisson actions, introduced by \textit{J. H. Lu} and the author [``Mixed product Poisson structures associated to Poisson Lie groups and Lie bialgebras'', Int. Math. Res. Not. 2017, No. 19, 5919--5976 (2016; \url{doi:10.1093/imrn/rnw189})]. Then, using the equivalence of categories proven by \textit{D. Li-Bland} and \textit{P. Ševera} [Doc. Math., J. DMV 20, 1071--1135 (2015; Zbl 1339.53079)] and \textit{A. Alekseev} and \textit{Y. Kosmann-Schwarzbach} [J. Differ. Geom. 56, No. 1, 133--165 (2000; Zbl 1046.53055)], it is shown that the Fock-Rosly Poisson structure corresponds to the quasi-Poisson structure of \textit{D. Li-Bland} and \textit{P. Ševera} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2011, No. 10, 2295--2350 (2011; Zbl 1218.53083)].
