By definition, a polyad is a lax functor from a small category \(\mathcal{D}\) to the bicategory of categories. That is, it sends an object in \( \mathcal{D}\) to a monoidal category and a morphism in \(\mathcal{D}\) to a monoidal functor. A Hopf polyad is a comonoidal polyad whose fusion operators are invertible. As one of main aims of the paper, the author wants to unify Hopf monads and strong monoidal group actions through Hopf polyads. To do this, the author proved the central result of the paper: The normalization of a \(r\)-exact transitive Hopf polyad is a strong comonoidal polyad of action type. By this result, the author realized the aim. As applications, the author also showed that the Hopf categories in the sense of Batista-Caenepeel-Vercruysse [\textit{E. Batista} et al., Algebr. Represent. Theory 19, No. 5, 1173--1216 (2016; Zbl 1373.16057)] is a special case of Hopf polyad and generalized a Turaev-Virelizier's description of the center of graded fusion category [\textit{V. Turaev} and \textit{A. Virelizier}, ``On two approaches to 3-dimensional TQFTs'', \url{arXiv:1006.3501}].
