The stochastic incompressible Navier-Stokes equation, driven by temporal multiplicative white noise, but with a nuclear spatial covarance on unbounded 2-dimensional domains is considered. In these cases, the statistics of the long-term behaviour of the solution is of interest. For a similar case, but with additive noise, it is known that an invarant measure exists for the stochastic dynamics. An analogous result is proved here, namely the existence of an invariant measure. The proof is difficult, as on unbounded domains the resolvent of the linear part is not compact. The techniques used give finite element approximations via Galerkin's existence proof.
