A generalization of the classical Neumann problem for the directional derivatives is studied on the boundary of the unit disk \(D\). Let \(\nu : \partial D \rightarrow \partial D\) and \(\varphi : \partial D \rightarrow \mathbf{R}\) be measurable functions. It is shown that there is a harmonic function \(u\) in \(D\) such that \(\lim_{z \rightarrow\;\zeta} \partial u/ \partial \nu(z) = \varphi(\zeta)\) for a.e. \(\zeta \in \partial D\) along all non-tangential paths ending at \(\zeta\). The proof is based on the use of analytic functions and an earlier paper by the author [Ann. Univ. Buchar., Math. Ser. 5(63), No. 1, 169--178 (2014; Zbl 1324.31002)]. Similar problems on the boundary of a domain with rectifiable boundary and on the boundary of an arbitrary Jordan domain are also studied.
