The main result of the paper is the following: Let \(( b_{k}) \subset\mathbb{C}\) be a sequence such that there exists \(\lim_{n\rightarrow \infty}\frac{1}{n^{p}}\sum_{k=1}^{n}b_{k}=:b\) for a \(p>0\). If \(f:( 0,1] \rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) is a monotone function with \(f\in L^{1}( ( 0,1] ,x^{p-1}\mathrm{d}x) \) and \(x^{p}\in L^{1}( ( 0,1] ,| \mathrm{d}f| ) \), then \[ \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty}\frac{1}{n^{p}}\sum_{k=1}^{n}b_{k}f( k/n) =pb\int_{0}^{1}x^{p-1}f( x) \mathrm{d}x. \]
