Szász-Mirakyan type operators which fix exponentials (Q1682579)

In the last years several sequences of positive linear operators were constructed, in order to approximate larger classes of functions and/or to furnish a better rate of convergence. Some references in this direction are given in the introduction of this paper. Then the authors construct a new general class of positive linear operators of Szász-Mirakyan type which reproduce the functions \(\exp(ax)\) and \(\exp(2ax)\), where \(x\geq0\), and \(a>0\) is a given parameter. The convergence of the new sequence is investigated in exponential weighted spaces. The authors present the moments and the central moments of the operators, the rate of convergence and a Voronovskaya type theorem. The last section is devoted to saturation results.
