Wild theories with o-minimal open core (Q1682898)

In the present paper, questions on the existence of a complete theory \(T^*\) extending an o-minimal expansion \(T\) of a densely ordered group which interprets a model of another consistent theory \(T'\) are studied. The main result of the paper is that such a complete theory \(T^*\) exists. Moreover, if \(T'\) is NIP (strongly dependent) then so is \(T^*\). The authors also prove that there is a NIP expansion of the ordered real additive group which has a distal expansion. At last, some open questions on the existence of NIP expansions for \(\langle \mathbb{N}, <\rangle\) and \(\langle \mathbb{R}, <, +\rangle\) and questions concerning an extension of the obtained results to other geometric structures are given.
