Conjugates of integral functionals on continuous functions (Q1684703)

In two papers in 1968 and 1971, Rockafellar studied the problem of coniugacy of integral functionals giving some conditions, sufficient conditions, for the integral representation of integrals of convex functions. In a more recent paper, the author studied an analogous problem, and in the present paper, the author sharpens the previous results, both of Rockafellar and himself. Precisely some conditions (inner semicontinuity) are shown to be not only sufficient, but necessary for the representation.
