    This paper investigates the existence and uniqueness of the solutions of the following nonlinear Volterra singular integral equation \[ x(t) = f(t) +\int^t_0 F(t, s, x(s))ds, \] where \(t, s \in [0, 1]\), \(f : [0,1] \to \mathbb{R}\) is a continuous function and \(F: \{(t, s) : 0 \leq s < t \leq 1\}\times\mathbb{R} \to \mathbb{R}\). A result is given under a contraction condition. Two examples illustrating the main result are presented.
