This paper investigates a connected embedded, two-sided hypersurface \(M\) in \(S^{n+1}\), \(n\geq 2\), satisfying: {\parindent=7mm\begin{itemize}\item[(1)] \(\mathrm{int}(M)\) is \(C^{n+1}\) and \(M\) is \(C^{1}\) up to boundary \item[(2)] \(R\geq n(n-1)\) \item[(3)] \(\partial M\) is contained in \(S_+^n\) \item[(4)] \(M\) is tangent to \(S_+^n\) at \(\partial M\) from the region enclosed by \(\partial M\). \end{itemize}} The authors prove that \(M\) is a portion of the hemisphere \(S_+^n\). Also, the hypersurfaces in \(\mathbb R^{n+1}\) satisfying similar assumptions are included as well. Suppose \(M\) is a connected embedded, two-sided hypersurface in \(\mathbb R^{n+1}\), \(n\geq 2\), satisfying: {\parindent=7mm\begin{itemize}\item[(1)] \(\mathrm{int}(M)\) is \(C^{n+1}\) and \(M\) is \(C^{1}\) up to boundary \item[(2)] \(R\) is nonnegative \item[(3)] \(\partial M\) is contained in the half-hyperplane \(p_+=\{(x_1,\dots,x_n,0):x_1\geq 0\}\) \item[(4)] \(M\) is tangent to a hyperplane at \(\partial M\) from the region enclosed by \(\partial M\). \end{itemize}} Then it is shown that \(M\) is a portion of either a hyperplane or a generalized cylinder. At the end of the paper, they show that the condition (4) is necessary to get the conclusion.
