If \(A\) denotes either a simplicial complex \(K\) or a small category \(\mathcal{C}\), the authors define in this paper a twisted structure \(\delta\) on \(A\), with coefficients in a simplicial group \(G\), as a function \(\delta:V(A)\rightarrow \mathrm{End}(G)\) (where \(V(A)\) denotes the set of objects of \(A\)) satisfying suitable conditions. Then, they define twisted (co)homology for \(A\) with a given twisted structure \(\delta\) and, in this way, they generalize a variation of the classical simplicial (co)homology like that given by the \(\delta\)-(co)homology introduced in [\textit{A. Grigor'yan} et al., Homology Homotopy Appl. 16, No. 1, 295--311 (2014; Zbl 1297.05269); J. Homotopy Relat. Struct. 11, No. 2, 209--230 (2016; Zbl 1353.05056)]. Also, the authors construct a simplicial group depending on the twisted structure \(\delta\) and, as a consequence of the main theorem in this work, they determine the homotopy type of this simplicial group as the loop space over a certain twisted smash product.
