The author shows that a result by him and \textit{R. Dahal} from [J. Difference Equ. Appl. 23, No. 7, 1190--1203 (2017; Zbl 1385.39003)] is sharp. That result, which would take too much notation to set up to summarize here, ensures monotonicity for classes of sequences. Suffice it to say that the conditions involve positivity of certain difference operators that involve falling factorials. The counterexamples look quite simple, they start out \(\langle 1, 1, 1-\varepsilon,\ldots\rangle\), but showing that a suitable \(\varepsilon\) may be found requires some work.
