For the motive of a modular form \(f\) of higher even weight, \textit{J. Nekovář} [Math. Ann. 302, No. 4, 609--686 (1995; Zbl 0841.11025)] bounds its Selmer group by considering the image of the \(p\)-adic Abel-Jacobi map of Heegner cycles on the associated Kuga-Sato varieties. It can be said that it is motivated by the Beilinson-Bloch-Kato conjecture concerning the relation between the Selmer group and the rank of \(L\)-functions. The aim of the paper under review is to generalize it to the case of the twisted version by an algebraic Hecke character. To bound its Selmer group, the author constructs an Euler system of generalized Heegner cycles by the work of \textit{M. Bertolini} et al. [Duke Math. J. 162, No. 6, 1033--1148 (2013; Zbl 1302.11043)]. The method of the proof is to combine the work of Nekovář [loc. cit.], \textit{V. A. Kolyvagin} [Prog. Math. 87, 435--483 (1990; Zbl 0742.14017)] and \textit{M. Bertolini} and \textit{H. Darmon} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 412, 63--74 (1990; Zbl 0712.14008)], but it is difficult to treat the algebraic Hecke character and to complete the proof.
