Fix a local non-Archimedean field \(K\) with ring of integers \(O\) and residue field \(k\), and a reductive algebraic group \(G\) over \(K\) . Then there is a (not necessarily unique) reductive algebraic group \(\hat G\) over \(O\) whose \(K\)-points are isomorphic to those of \(G\) over \(K\), that is, \(\hat G( K )\simeq G(K)\). Now {\parindent=0.7cm\begin{itemize}\item[{\(\bullet\)}] an Iwahori subgroup of \(G\) is defined as the inverse image in the \(O\)-points \(\hat G(O)\) of a Borel subgroup of the \(k\)-points \(\hat G(k)\) (embedded into \(G(K)\) via the isomorphism \(\hat G(K)\to G(K)\)), and \item[{\(\bullet\)}] a parahoric subgroup of \(G\) is defined as the inverse image in \(\hat G(O)\) of a parabolic subgroup of \(\hat G(k)\) (embedded into \(G(K)\) via the isomorphism \(\hat G(K)\to G(K)\)); it is a finite union of double cosets of an Iwahori subgroup. For example, if \(G\) is the general linear group, \(G=\mathrm{GL}_n\), then \item[{\(\bullet\)}] a common choice of a Borel subgroup is that of all (upper or lower) triangular matrices in \(G\) (and all Borel subgroups are conjugate), and \item[{\(\bullet\)}] a common choice of a parabolic subgroup is that of all (upper or lower triangular) matrices in \(G\) with respect to a certain block decomposition; that is, it stabilizes a filtration of the underlying vector space. \end{itemize}} Parahoric restriction is the parahoric analogue of Jacquet's functor of parabolic restriction: Given the \(K\)-points of a reductive algebraic group \(G(K)\) for a finite extension \(K\) of \(\mathbf Q_p\), fix a parahoric subgroup \(P\) of \(G\) and let \(P^+\) denote its prounipotent radical. Parahoric restriction assigns to an admissible representation \((\rho,V)\) of \(G\) the action of the (so-called Levi) quotient \(P/P^+\) on the space of invariants under \(P^+\). The functor is exact and factors over semisimplification, so it is determined by its action on irreducible admissible representations. For the group \(\mathrm{GS}p_4(K)\) of symplectic similitudes of genus two over \(K\), the author determines in this article all parahoric restrictions of all non-cuspidal irreducible admissible representations in terms of explicit character values for the finite reductive group \(P/P^+\). (The parahoric restrictions of cuspidal irreducible admissible representations were already considered by the author in [Parahoric restriction for GSp(4) and the inner cohomology of Siegel modular threefolds. Heidelberg: University of Heidelberg (PhD. Thesis) (2016)]). The motivation for these investigations comes from the study of Siegel modular forms of genus two. In more detail: For a proper parabolic subgroup of \(G=\mathrm{GS}p_4(K)\) fix a cuspidal irreducible admissible complex linear representation \(\sigma\) of its Levi quotient (that is, the quotient by its unipotent radical). Let \(\rho\) be an irreducible subquotient of the normalized parabolic induction of \(\sigma\) to \(G\). Then \(\rho\) is non-cuspidal and every non-cuspidal irreducible admissible representation of \(G\) arises this way. In [\textit{A. Moy} and \textit{G. Prasad}, Comment. Math. Helv. 71, No. 1, 98--121 (1996; Zbl 0860.22006)], a notion of depth of an irreducible admissible representation of \(G\) is given. In particular, such a representation has depth zero if and only if it admits non-zero parahoric restriction with respect to some parahoric subgroup. By [loc. cit., 5.2], if \(\sigma\) has positive depth, then the parahoric restriction of \(\rho\) is zero, because the depths of \(\sigma\) and \(\rho\) coincide. Therefore, \(\sigma\) is supposed to have depth zero. In Section 2, it is shown that there are five conjugacy classes of parahoric subgroups in \(G\). The parahoric restriction of \(\rho\) with respect to these five standard parahoric subgroups is then computed in Section 3 (using the Bruhat and Iwasawa decomposition of \(G\) and the explicit computations of admissible irreducible representations of \(G\) by \textit{B. Roberts} and \textit{R. Schmidt} [Local newforms for \(\text{GSp}(4)\). Berlin: Springer (2007; Zbl 1126.11027)]); finally, the results are stated in five Tables (one for each conjugacy class of parahoric subgroups) in Section 4.
