This paper considers the class of \(\kappa\)-type Fibonacci unimodal maps. For a map \(f\) in this class, the authors prove that \(f\) admits a mixing absolutely continuous invariant probability measure whose decay of correlations is at least stretched exponentially fast if and only if the critical order \(l\) of \(f\) is in \((1,\kappa+1)\). Furthermore, when this condition occurs, the speed of decay of correlations is of stretched exponential type with order \(\alpha= \alpha(\kappa, l)\). To prove this theorem, the authors use results of \textit{L.-S. Young} [Isr. J. Math. 110, 153--188 (1999; Zbl 0983.37005)] and \textit{G. Keller} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 10, No. 4, 717--744 (1990; Zbl 0715.58020)]. Earlier in the paper, the authors also apply ideas from \textit{M. Lyubich} and \textit{J. Milnor} [J. Am. Math. Soc. 6, No. 2, 425--457 (1993; Zbl 0778.58040)] and \textit{H. Bruin} et al. [Commun. Math. Phys. 241, No. 2--3, 287--306 (2003; Zbl 1098.37034)].
