In this paper, the authors consider a \(1\)-parameter family of strictly convex hypersurfaces in \(\mathbb R^{n+1}\) moving with speed \(-K^{\alpha}\nu\), where \(\alpha>0\), \(K\) and \(\nu\) are the Gauss curvature and the outward-pointing unit normal vector, respectively. By classifying the self-similar solutions, they show that the flow converges to a round sphere after rescaling for \(\alpha>1/(n+2)\). In the affine invariant case \(\alpha=1/(n+2)\), their arguments give an alternative proof of the fact that the flow converges to an ellipsoid after rescaling.
