The authors study \(\ell_1\) geometric quantum discord and quantum coherence to analyze quantum phase transition (QPT) in various spin chain models with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya (DM) interaction by the quantum renormalization group (QRG) method. The authors compute the \(\ell_1\) norm quantum coherence of the density matrix by tracing over site 2 by taking the XXZ model with DM interaction into account, the Ising model with DM interaction and the XY model with DM interaction. The authors find that the two measures can effectively detect the QPT with the QRG method and they make some comparisons with previous results. The authors plot the evolution of the \(\ell_1\) norm quantum coherence \(C_{\ell_1}(\rho_{13})\) and the one-norm geometric quantum discord \(D_{1}(\rho_{13})\) versus the anisotropy parameter \(\Delta\) in terms of QRG iterations at some fixed values of \(D\). The authors show that the quantum coherence and the quantum correlation have different changes. For some given parameters, the authors show that the \(\ell_1\) norm quantum coherence is insensitive to the DM value, but the \(\ell_1\) geometric quantum discord is sensitive to the DM value from the beginning. Finally, the authors present a brief conclusion.
