Rank properties of the semigroup of endomorphisms over Brandt semigroup (Q1702527)

Five different concepts of ranks for a finite semigroup was introduced by \textit{J. M. Howie} and \textit{M. I. Marques Ribeiro} [Commun. Algebra 27, No. 11, 5333--5347 (1999; Zbl 0940.20056); Southeast Asian Bull. Math. 24, No. 2, 231--237 (2000; Zbl 0967.20030)]. In this note, the author studies the rank of the semigroup \(\mathrm{End}(B_n)\) of endomorphisms over the Brandt semigroup. Four (small, lower, intermediate and large) ranks are calculated and a lower bound for the upper rank is provided.
