The author considers the one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes equations for the perfect gas with no viscosity. Boundary conditions are constant limits at \(\pm\infty\) for velocity and temperature (possibly different but with the same ratio). The author considers the low Mach number limit and shows that the solution converges to a nonlinear diffusion wave globally in time. Also the wave speed is estimated in terms of temperature variation. The results are shown to be valid for suitably small Mach number values.
