Notes on complex hyperbolic triangle groups of type (\(m, n, \infty\)) (Q1707392)

This article deals with the discreteness of triangle groups acting on the complex hyperbolic plane. The discreteness of triangle groups acting on the real hyperbolic plane is well known, but the complex version must be studied in a different way. In the complex version, for each triad \((m,n,\ell)\) of the angles of a triangle, a particular study is necessary; it is not easy to obtain a general theory for the conditions of discreteness. The paper gives an answer to this question in the case \((m,n,\infty)\).
