Summary: The analysis of the average citation delay in mathematical references in the second author's joint work with \textit{T. Bouche} and \textit{K. Wojciechowski} [Eur. Math. Soc. Newsl. 86, 54--55 (2012; Zbl 1263.01012)] is extended on the basis of much more available zbMATH data, taking now into account also effects of publication lag (evaluated by comparison with arXiv submissions) and subject specifics based on MSC categories. The data suggest that there is no such thing as an absolute half-life of mathematical citations; indeed, the overall citation growth dominates possible effects of a declining relevance. MSC cross-citation evaluation and the long-time behaviour of MSC-invariant citations is also given.
