The authors proposed three diffusive logistic models with free boundary to describe the evolution of mosquito population and range in a varying environment. That is how it can be understood the phenomenon that mosquitoes respond to warming climate by shifting their range boundaries. The second model is a simplified version of the first one. The third model is of seasonal succession type, which is more realistic in that it takes into account of the seasonal changes of mosquito movements in each year. In fact, the authors assume that, during the warm seasons of the year, the mosquitoes evolve according to first model, but during the cold seasons, the mosquito range is fixed and the population is assumed to be in a hibernating status. The authors also present some numerical simulations for the three models and some discussions on the effectiveness of the models in describing the movement of the mosquito population and range driven by warming climate.
