Let \(J(x)=\sin(x)/x\). The Jordan inequality reads as follows: \(J(x)>2/\pi\), \(0<x<\pi/2\). Numerous researchers presented various proofs as well as interesting refinements, variants, and counterparts of this inequality. \textit{L. Zhu} [Comput. Math. Appl. 55, No. 11, 2498--2505 (2008; Zbl 1142.26317)] provided upper and lower bounds for \(J(x)\) in terms of polynomials. Related inequalities were obtained by \textit{S. Wu} and \textit{L. Debnath} [Appl. Math. Lett. 21, No. 8, 803--809 (2008; Zbl 1168.26319)]. In this note, the authors present new sharp upper and lower bounds for \(J(x)\). The bounds are polynomials of the form \[ \sum \limits_{k,l=0}^{n}a_{kl}x^{k}y^{l}\text{ with }y=\pi/2-x, \] where \(n\) is any nonnegative integer. Both polynomials are identical with the exception of the coefficients of \(x^{n}y^{n}\). The new bounds are compared with those given in the above mentioned papers.
