The authors deal with polynomial mappings from $\mathbb{C}^n$ to $\mathbb{C}^{n-1}$ for $n\gg 2$. Such maps (if non constant) are locally trivial fibrations outside the bifurcation set $B$ in $\mathbb{C}^{n-1}$. The question is how to determine this bifurcation set $B(G)$ for a given mapping $G$. This problem, not an easy one, has already been studied for $n=2$ and for a generic class of mappings. The authors give sufficient conditions (in terms of homology) for such a map to be a fibration. To this end they associate to a polynomial mapping $G: \mathbb{C}^n\to \mathbb{C}^{n-1}$ singular varieties VG such that their intersection homology characterizes $B(G)$. The authors mention that the starting point to such an approach was the paper [Ann. Inst. Fourier 64, No. 5, 2147--2163 (2014; Zbl 1396.14050)] by \textit{A. Valette} and \textit{G. Valette}. The introduction gives a very good idea (both technical and intuitive) of what is proved in the paper and by what methods. It also explains, very clearly, what difficulties are encountered when trying to adapt the construction given for polynomial mappings $F :\mathbb{C}^n\to \mathbb{C}^n$ by the Valettes. The constructions used are very technical but explained in detail. The motivation and the connections to earlier works by different authors are discussed. This paper seems to be an important step forward for the description of the bifurcation set.
