There is a well known relationship between the representation theory of affine Lie algebras and combinatorial identities of the Rogers-Ramanujan type, starting from \textit{J. Lepowsky} and \textit{M. Primc} [Structure of the standard modules for the affine Lie algebra \(A_ 1^{(1)}\). Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (1985; Zbl 0569.17007)]. \textit{A. V. Stoyanovsky} and \textit{B. L. Feigin} [Funct. Anal. Appl. 28, No. 1, 55--72 (1994; Zbl 0905.17030); translation from Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 28, No. 1, 68--90 (1994)] introduced the concept of principal subspaces of a standard module, a new important concept in the study of the interactions between Lie theory and integer partition theory. Later work by J. Lepowsky and G. Georgiev inspired a lot of research by several authors including the present authors. Here they obtain combinatorial bases of principal subspaces of standard modules with highest weight of type \(k\Lambda_0\) for \(A_{2\ell-1}^{(2)}\), \(D_{\ell}^{(2)}\), \(E_{6}^{(2)}\), \(D_{4}^{(3)}\). They use these bases to compute characters.
