The article under review studies the Ziegler spectrum of any serial ring when considered as a topological ring. The paper gives the required background and a literature survey of the previous work done; it is self-contained. The first section gives the preliminaries on the basic concepts of model-theoretical algebra and defines the Ziegler spectrum of a ring. Namely, for a ring \(R\), the Ziegler spectrum is a topological space whose points are isomorphism classes of indecomposable pure-injective \(R\)-modules. The main result of the paper is in Section 2, Theorem 2.7. Here, the authors show that the Ziegler spectrum of any serial ring is sober. A ring \(R\) is sober, if each of its irreducible closed subsets is in the closure of a point. For a given topological space \(T\), the topological space on the equivalence classes of topologically indistinguishable points of \(T\), with respect to the quotient topology is called a \(T_0\)-quotient of \(T\). Section 3 and 4 of the paper are devoted to compute the \(T_0\)-quotients of Ziegler spectra of uniserial rings.
