The main result of this paper shows that every map between certain manifolds must have degree zero. This even though the source manifold has greater simplicial volume than the target manifold. The manifolds are created starting with a manifold $M_{0}$ for which every homology class in a given dimension can be represented by a manifold -- this is used to create the target manifold. The source manifold is created starting with a manifold $N_{0}$ that has a class in the given dimension that is not representable by a manifold. A suitable connected sum of $M_{0}$ with a manifold that is a product of manifolds of dimension $\leq 9$, where all factors have positive simplicial volume gives the target manifold and the source manifold is also a connected sum of $N_{0}$ with manifolds $N'$ that have positive simplicial volume.
