Nonlinear Dirichlet problems with sign changing drift coefficient (Q1726611)

This paper is concerned with the study of a quasilinear elliptic problem with gradient term and Dirichlet boundary condition. A feature of this paper is that the coefficient of the convection term (drift coefficient) is sign-changing. The main result of this paper establishes the existence of a positive smooth solution. The central arguments in the proof are the theory of nonlinear operators of monotone type together with suitable truncation and comparison techniques. The tools are quite general and can be extended to the study of several classes of nonlinear elliptic problems with various types of boundary conditions.
