For a $G'$-space $X$ one considers the action of a bigger group $G\supset G'$, the hidden symmetry of $X$. An example is the unit sphere $X=S^{2n-1}$ in $\mathbb{C}^n$, with the action of the unitary group $G'=U(n)$, and $G=\mathrm{SO}(2n)$. The author studies the relations between \par (A) the global analysis on $X$ by using representations of $G$, \par (B) the global analysis on $X$ by using representations of $G'$, \par (C) the branching laws of representations of $G$ when restricted to the subgroup $G'$. \par The groups $G$ and $G'$ are assumed to be real reductive Lie groups. The author studies in Section 2 the discrete part $L^2(X)_d$ of $L^2(X)$, and assuming $X$ to be real spherical with respect to $G'$, establishes two double fibrations for the decomposition of $L^2(X)_d$ into irreducible representations. In Section 3, the author studies algebras of invariant differential operators with respect to $G$ and $G'$ and the relations between them. The space $X$ is seen as a coset space $G'/H'$ and $G/H$ as well. One considers a reductive subgroup $L'$ of $G'$ containing $H'$, and the $G'$-equivariant map \[ X=G'/H'\to Y=G'/L', \] with typical fiber $F=L'/H'$. The author studies the three rings $\mathbb{D}_{L'_C}(F_C)$, $\mathbb{D}_{G_C}(X_C)$, and $\mathbb{D}_{G'_C}(X_C)$, and the relations between them. These rings are explicitly described for several examples. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1387.11001].
