Rank verification for exponential families (Q1731054)

The problem of rank verification is concerned in this article. The validity of several very simple and seemingly ``naive'' procedures for significance testing of sample ranks is proven. It has been shown that an adjusted pairwise test comparing the winner with runner-up is a valid significance test for the first rank. The author's approach is considerably more powerful than previously known solutions. \par The paper is well-organized with elegant examples.
