The Kolmogorov \(\varepsilon\)-entropy of a compact set \(X\) is denoted by \(H_{\varepsilon}(X)\). It is known that for the compact sets \(X\) of functions of finite smoothness, \(H_{\varepsilon}(X)\) grows as \((1/\varepsilon)^{\beta}\) as \(\varepsilon\to 0\), where \(\beta > 0\); this growth is slower when some greater smoothness is imposed in \(X\). On the contrary, for the compact sets \(X\) of analytic functions the growth of \(H_{\varepsilon}(X)\) is characterized just by a fixed power of \(\log(1/\varepsilon)\); see, e.g. [\textit{Yu. A. Farkov}, J. Math. Sci., New York 218, No. 5, 678--698 (2016; Zbl 1355.30035); translation from Fundam. Prikl. Mat. 19, No. 5, 185--212 (2014)]. The author calculates asymptotics of \(H_{\varepsilon}(X)\) for the compact set \(X\) of infinitely differentiable aperiodic functions embedded continuously into the space \(C[-1,1]\).
