Sullivan minimal models of commutative differential graded algebras are obtain by a step-by-step process of KS-extensions. This process is here generalized to algebras over an operad $P$ in the category of complexes of $k$-vector spaces. \par A notion of $r$-tame operads is introduced in this paper: examples of $0$-tame operads includes the operads $\mathrm{Ass}$ of associative algebras, $\mathrm{Com}$ of associative commutative algebras, $\mathrm{Lie}$ of Lie algebras; their minimal models $\mathrm{Ass}_\infty$, $\mathrm{Com}_\infty$ and $\mathrm{Lie}_\infty$; operads concentrated in degree $0$. The operad of Gerstenhaber algebras is $1$-tame. Using free $P$-algebras, KS-extensions are defined in this operadic context, which allows to define Sullivan minimal $P$-algebras. A Sullivan model of a $P$-algebra $A$ is a Sullivan minimal model $M$ with a $P$-algebra map $f:M\longrightarrow A$ inducing an isomorphism in cohomology. \par The main result is that if $P$ is a connected $r$-tame operad, then any $r$-connected $P$-algebra has a minimal model, unique up to isomorphism.
