The authors construct complete Ricci-flat Kähler metrics on canonical line bundles of complex flag manifolds. They use the Calabi Ansatz as described in [\textit{E. Calabi}, Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 12, 269--294 (1978; Zbl 0431.53056)]. The idea in Calabi's construction is to use the Hermitian vector bundle structure over a Kähler-Einstein manifold to reduce the Kähler-Einstein condition, which is generally a Monge-Ampère equation, to an ordinary differential equation. The techniques used in the paper are Lie theoretic and also use representation theory. Explicit exapmples are goven for some classical and exceptional cases.
