The Euler problem for steady flow of an ideal fluid in $R^3$ is considered. In the introduction, the author specifies that ``Opinions have been expressed that in three dimensions there are no smooth solutions (of this problem) with compact support besides $u = 0$. The main goal of this paper is to show that it is not true''. The Euler's equations (5) in cylindrical coordinates is related with the particular partial differential system (4), introduced in connection with a singular Cauchy problem for the ordinary differential equation (1). A very elegant proof uses the solutions of (1) and (4) in order to built a solution for (5) in the neighborhood of the circle of center $(0,0)$ and radius $R$. Moreover, the obtained solution satisfies the additional condition $u \cdot \nabla p = 0$, where $u$, $p$ are the velocity and pressure. Related with this last conditions, a very interesting analysis concerning the Beltrami-type flows is given in the last part.
