The author of this paper studies the asymptotic estimate of the expected number of real zeros of random self-similar polynomials \(Q_n(x)\) where the coefficients form a sequence of independent normally distributed random variables. In particular, it is considered the case where the variances of the middle coefficients are substantially larger than the others and under the assumption of a normal distribution for the random coefficients of \(Q_n(x)\). In this case, the asymptotic estimate of the expected number of real zeros is of order \(n^{3/8}\). In addition, it is also shown that the expected density of random self-similar algebraic polynomials has two isolated poles at \(1\) and \(-1\). Finally, a conjecture about the expected number of real zeros of random self-similar polynomials is made.
