Let \(X\) be a Tychonoff topological space and \(\mathcal B\) a bornology on \(X\), that is an ideal of subsets \(X\) covering \(X\). A subset \(\mathcal B_1\) of \(\mathcal B\) is a base for the bornology \(\mathcal B\) if \(\mathcal B_1\) is cofinal in \(\mathcal B\) with respect to inclusion; if all elements of \(\mathcal B_1\) are compact, then \(\mathcal B_1\) is called a compact base for \(\mathcal B\). The topology of uniform convergence on elements of \(\mathcal B\), denoted by \(\tau_{\mathcal B}\), is the topology on the set \(C(X)\) of all continuous real-valued functions on \(X\) with a neighborhood base at \(f\in C(X)\) consisting of the sets of the form \((B, \varepsilon)[f] := \{g \in C(X): |f(x) - g(x)| < \varepsilon \text{ for all } x\in B\}\), \(B \in \mathcal B\), \(\varepsilon > 0\). Let \(C_{\mathcal B}(X)\) denote the function space \((C(X), \tau_{\mathcal B})\). The authors study Menger-type and Rothberger-type selection properties of the space \(C_{\mathcal B}(X)\) and corresponding two-person games extending some results by \textit{A. Caserta} et al. [Topology Appl. 159, No. 7, 1847--1852 (2012; Zbl 1253.54021)]. In the second part of the paper they consider productivity properties of \(\gamma\)-like spaces in the context of spaces of the form \(C_{\mathcal B}(X)\).
