    This article presents several important results about the existence of algebras of hypercyclic vectors for different operators. Let \(X\) be a topological algebra and let \(T:X \rightarrow X\) be a continuous linear operator. In the case \(T\) where is hypercyclic, \(HC(T)\) denotes the set of all hypercyclic vectors of \(T\). The purpose of the paper under review is to investigate when \(HC(T) \cup \{ 0 \}\) contains a nontrivial algebra. Such an algebra is then called a hypercyclic algebra for \(T\). Several results about the existence of hypercyclic algebras for convolution operators on \(H(\mathbb{C})\) are presented. They complement and extend previous work by \textit{S. Shkarin} [Isr. J. Math. 180, 271--283 (2010; Zbl 1218.47017)], \textit{F. Bayart} and the author [Dynamics of linear operators. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press (2009; Zbl 1187.47001)], and Bès, Conejero and Papathanasiou [\textit{J. Bès} et al., J. Math. Anal. Appl. 445, No. 2, 1232--1238 (2017; Zbl 1384.47002); J. Funct. Anal. 274, No. 10, 2884--2905 (2018; Zbl 1489.47012)]. Answering a question of the latter authors in [loc. cit., 2018], it is shown that if \(\Omega\) is a simply connected domain in the complex plane, \(\varphi\) is a holomorphic self-map of \(\Omega\) which is univalent and has no fixed point in \(\Omega\) and \(P\) is a nonconstant polynomial which is not a multiple of z and \(|P(1)| < 1\), then the composition operator \(C_{\varphi}\) satisfies that \(P(C_{\varphi})\) supports a hypercyclic algebra. An example of an operator on the Banach algebra \(\ell_1(\mathbb{N})\), endowed with the convolution product, which admits a hypercyclic algebra is also included. It is also shown how to modify the proofs to improve the construction to show that the hypercyclic algebras are dense and infinitely generated.
