Moser's quadratic, symplectic map (Q1739548)

This paper deals with the study of quadfurcation in the \textit{J. Moser}'s map [Math. Z. 216, No. 3, 417--430 (1994; Zbl 0806.58024)]. \par In Section 2 the normal form of the Moser's map and its fixed points are recalled. \par In Section 3 the occurence of the quadfurcation in which four new solutions are created out-of-nowhere under parameter variation is pointed out. \par In Section 4 some special fixed points are studied. Also, the behavior of some orbits is analyzed. Most orbits of the Moser map are unbounded and their escape time is highlighted in connection with the quadfurcation.
