Given two finite dimensional orthogonal representations of a finite group $G$ and equivariant maps $ f:V\to V , g:W\to W$ we have product map $f\times g: V\oplus W\to V\oplus W$. \par The authors give a detailed proof of a product formula for the equivariant degree: $$ \deg_G(f\times g)=\deg_G(f) \cdot \deg_G(g),$$ where $\cdot$ denotes the multiplication in the Burnside ring $A(G)$. \par For the (sketch) of the proof in the general case of a compact Lie group $G$ see [\textit{K. Geba} et al., Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 69, No. 2, 377--398 (1994; Zbl 0823.47060)].
