This paper is a continuation of two previous papers by the same authors [Math. Ann. 362, No. 3--4, 931--963 (2015; Zbl 1322.35094); Adv. Math. 293, 37--80 (2016; Zbl 1367.32027)]. Here, they investigate the long term behavior of the normalized Kähler-Ricci flow on mildly singular varieties of positive Kodaira dimension. This extends \textit{J. Song} and \textit{G. Tian}'s work [Invent. Math. 170, No. 3, 609--653 (2007; Zbl 1134.53040); J. Am. Math. Soc. 25, No. 2, 303--353 (2012; Zbl 1239.53086)]. The authors adopt an approach using the PDE method of viscosity solutions for degenerate parabolic equations. They also propose two conjectures, and study the relationship between them using a viscosity comparison principle for compact manifolds with boundary.
