The authors are concerned with numerical solutions to an initial-Robin boundary value problem attached to the hyperbolic deterministic acoustic wave equation. They use the Fourier transform in order to rewrite the problem in frequency variables. For this new problem they show the existence and uniqueness of solutions and set up a Galerkin FEM based on cubic tensorial splines. Then they use a Gauss-Hermite quadrature in order to carry out an inverse Fourier transform of the acoustic pressure. In physical space they provide some error estimates. Some numerical experiments are carried out in order to underline the performances of the proposed method.
