The singular perturbation problem \(-\varepsilon^2\Delta u+ u= f(u)\) in \(\Omega\), \(u>0\), \(\partial u/\partial n< 0\) on \(\partial\Omega\), where \(\Omega\) is a bounded domain, \(\varepsilon> 0\), and \(f\) is a function more general than (but behaving similarly) \(u^p\), \(1<p< (N+2)/(N-2)\), with \(N= 2,3\). The condition (BD) concerning non-smooth points on the boundary \(\partial\Omega\) is an important assumption for the main result (Theorem 1.1). The main goal in the paper is to show that a vertex on the boundary plays a similar role as the mean curvature in condensation phenomena. Theorem 1.1 gives the existence of least-energy solutions for \(\varepsilon\) small enough, and that the corresponding energies go to 0 when \(\varepsilon\) goes to 0. More information on the asymptotic profiles of least-energy solutions is also given.
