An intriguing set of a symplectic space is a set of points \(\mathcal{S}\) such that there are two constants \(h_1\) and \(h_2\), so that the number of points of \(\mathcal{S}\) collinear to a given point \(P\) is \(h_1\) or \(h_2\), depending on whether \(P\) lies in \(\mathcal{S}\) or not (respectively). Intriguing sets come in two flavours: \textit{\(i\)-tight sets} or \textit{\(m\)-ovoids}. The authors construct small tight sets of symplectic spaces. In particular, they show that the symplectic spaces \(W(2n+1,q^2)\) have \(2(q+1)\)-tight sets for all \(n\) and \(q\), except for the case that \(q=2\) and \(n\) is odd. This constructions resolves a question of \textit{J. De Beule} et al. [ibid. 50, No. 2, 187--201 (2009; Zbl 1246.51006)]. They also construct \(2q^{2n-2}\)-ovoids of \(W(4n-1,q)\), for \(q\) even.
