\textit{G. Shimura} [Arithmeticity in the theory of automorphic forms. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (2000; Zbl 0967.11001)] proved algebraicity results for special values of \(L\) functions and left the question open of more precise versions, including fields of definition and Galois reciprocity, although it is more or less clear that his methods would have been enough to establish such results. The author has taken up the implicit challenge and in [the author, Contrib. Math. Comput. Sci. 7, 135--176 (2014; Zbl 1359.11052)] worked out the details for Siegel modular forms of integral weight. Here, he moves on to half-integral weight, also known as metaplectic forms. The paper mirrors the earlier one very closely: only a few technical details, and of course the precise statements, differ. Some further comments that are made in the earlier paper depend on the weight being integral and hence do not apply here.
