An equivariant index for proper actions. II: Properties and applications (Q1747034)

In Part I of this series [the authors, J. Funct. Anal. 272, No. 2, 661--704 (2017; Zbl 1353.58011)], an equivariant index was developed that applies to actions by possibly noncompact groups, and with possibly noncompact orbit spaces. In this paper, authors investigate properties and applications of this index. They prove that it has an induction property that an be used to deduce various other properties of the index.
