The Hofer norm of a contactomorphism (Q1747691)

It is established that a non-degenerate right-invariant metric is induced on the group of contactomorphisms of an arbitrary closed contact manifold. It is proved that this metric is a Hofer contact metric. Some properties of this metric are considered. In the case of so-called prequantization spaces, the Hofer metric on the group of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms is studied. Sandon's problem of translated points for contactomorphisms is discussed.
