Let \(M\) be a Riemann surface and let \((N, h)\) be a Riemannian manifold. In the classical nonlinear sigma model the action functional is given by the Dirichlet energy, which is defined for a map \(\phi :M\rightarrow N\) and a Riemannian metric \(g\) on \(M\). Let \(S_g\) be the associated spinor bundle with respect to a fixed spin structure on \(M\). The superpartner of the map \(\phi \) is a section \(\psi \in \Gamma (S_g\otimes \phi ^{\ast}TN)\) known as spinor vector while a superpartner of the Riemannian metric \(g\) is a section \(\chi \in \Gamma (S_g\otimes TM)\) called a gravitino. An action functional \(\mathbb{A}\) is associated to all these objects. In the second section of this paper the behavior of this functional is discussed under rescaling of the metric and certain transformations of the gravitino. Section 3 deals with the energy-momentum tensor \(T\) and the supercurrent \(J\) of \(\mathbb{A}\) and it is obtained that Weyl invariance and super Weyl invariance yield algebraic constraints for \(T\) and \(J\). Diffeomorphism invariance of \(\mathbb{A}\), studied in Section 4, yields a coupled divergence equation for \(T\) and \(J\) and this equation is uncoupled in the case when \(\mathbb{A}\) possesses degenerate supersymmetry.
